David Balton

David Balton is a Senior Fellow with the Harvard Kennedy School’s Arctic Initiative, as well as a Consulting Advisor with the Ocean Conservancy. From 2021-2024, he served as Executive Director of the US Arctic Executive Steering Committee, which advances and coordinates U.S. policies and activities in the Arctic. He previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Oceans and Fisheries in the Department of State, attaining the rank of Ambassador in 2006.
